| Oh man, this is the most stessful time of the year for me. Which isn't to say that I don't enjoy it.
In less than two hours, I have to rush to the airport to pick up my parents, who are flying in for a week to spend Christmas with me. I'm not even dressed, shaved, or showered... and I still have to go to the bank, to the grocery store, and to the wine store, bring it all back, put it all away, and then still manage to get to the airport in time to meet them.
Sigh. And here I am writing a journal entry instead of doing what needs to be done. I'm moving SLOWLY this morning.
I spent most of the day yesterday cleaning the house, and wrapping presents, and most of this morning either cleaning up or procrastinating. At least I finished most of the cleaning, but it had been so long since I did a full "move the furniture" type cleaning and dusting, that my allergies went NUTS. I've spent the last 24 hours just sneezing and sniffling.
Brian was a real sweet-heart, though, and came over last night to help me clean. He helped me catch up with all my tasks, even though he didn't have the best day himself. He even bought me dinner! I invited him along to meet my parents for dinner on Saturday night. He's all nervous about it, but I know it'll go well. My parents are cool. And that's the last I'll see him until after Christmas, as he'll be spending all that time up at his folks' place.
And so it begins. Take care everyone, and have a happy holiday, whatever holiday you celebrate! |
